Mission Statement


The mission of the Denton County Special Education Cooperative is to support the participating districts by providing special education services as necessary to educate all special education students.  We will strive to empower all special education students in their pursuit of academic success and emotional and physical well being, so that they may have the opportunity to become self-sufficient contributors to society.  High standards are set and maintained to encourage a positive team culture, to develop good working relations with all participating districts, and to provide means of professional growth of all employees in order to reach the cooperative's highest potential in delivering appropriate services.

          It is the policy of Denton County Special Education Co-op to destroy Special Ed. eligibility files that are at least seven years old.  If your file, or your child's file, has been inactive for seven years or more, as of December 2009, the file is scheduled to be destroyed.

    It is your right to inspect these records and/or obtain copies of documents in them.  If you wish to do so, these records will be available at the Denton County Special Education Co-op office located at 601 Elm St., Sanger, TX, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The mailing address for the Denton County Special Education Co-op is:  P. O. Box 1759, Sanger, TX 76266.

         If you have not reviewed these records by June 8, 2017 the assumption will be made that you do not wish to do so and the scheduled destruction of the records will occur.
