The State of Texas defines the parameters in determining whether or not a student is declared eligible for regular education school bus transportation. In general, a student must live 2-miles or more from their assigned school to be eligible for regular education school bus transportation at no additional charge. We call the area within this 2 mile zone, the parent responsiblity zone. The 2 mile line is measured from property line to property line using the shortest possible distance on public roads or paved walkways.
For students who are not eligible for regular transportation to their assigned school, Sanger ISD offers a Fare Busing program on a space available, area available, first come first served basis. The cost is established in May for the following year. The current school year price starts at $35.00 per month per student.
Parents wishing to take advantage of this program should print this form and bring a completed copy to the Transportation office to determine space availability on a pay-to-ride route. If your student is approved for a route, you will be provided with payment instructions at that time. Only approved students will be permitted to register and pay for bus service.
