eSped.com Teacher IEP Training

Go to https://www.esped.com to access eSped.  The eSped.com homepage is displayed.

Login:
Important - You cannot login until the system administrator has enrolled you.  He/she will give you a user name and password.
1.  Go to www.esped.com.
2.  Click on Member Login
3.  Type in your Username and Password
4.  Click Log in or press the enter key

Access to applications is assigned through User Enrollment and Security by the eSped Administrator.  You will only see applications you have access rights to see.

Click the Logout button when you have completed your work in eSped.
Click the My Profile button to update user information.
Important:  The DCSEC eSped Administrator has assigned you a "temporary" password.  You will need to enter a new "secret" password immediately.  Do not share this secret password with anyone.

Click on the Texas ARD Forms application. 
The Student Screen will appear.
To search for a student:
*  Enter Last Name (or the first few letters of the last name) - Click Find  OR
*  Enter First Name (or the first few lettersof the first name) - Click Find  OR
*  Enter Local ID - Click Find  OR
*  Select the School Name from the drop-down - Click Find
*  Click the Clear button and Find again to return all students to the screen

Open a student's record by clicking on the Open button.  The FERPA screen appears.  You must enter a reason for accessing the student's record.

The Student Information Screen will appear.

Important Information (top portion of screen):
*  Name and ID# of student
*  Reporting period
*  Close button - will close the application
*  Previous/Next - will automatically save between screen changes
*  Save - will save information entered on the current screen
*  Reports - allows you to print reports
*  Preview - allows you to preview a report
*  List Students - allows you to choose another sutdnet from the drop-down menu
*  Time - The time indicates the number of minutes left since the last time you saved data.

Important Information (bottom portion of screen):

Determination of Eligibility Screen:
To enter Present Levels of Academic and Functional Performance -
*  Click on the note pad beside each subject area, type in PLAAFP statement and click Save (See DCSEC Standards-Based IEP Development Process)
* Once you have entered data in the note pad and saved it, the note pad will look like it has writing on it.

Measurable Annual Goals (Standards) Screen:

Two choices:

1.       Click on Goal Focus.  Click on Find TEKS.  Click on the Topic.  Click on the Subtopic.  Click Search. Click on Select.  The TEK selectedwill appear in the text box on the Measurable Annual Goals (Standards)Screen.  Edit the TEK to include a timeframe, condition,behavior, and criteria.  (See DCSECStandards-Based IEP Development Directions.)

OR

2.      Havein mind the skill/behavior/TEK Student Expectation the student needs as agoal.  Click on Timeframe. (Notice itappears in textbox.)  Click on Condition.  Click on Behavior.  Click on Criteria.  Edit the textbox for clarity.  A teacher may directly type into the textboxto create a Standards-Based IEP Annual Goal. However, it is necessary to read over the created goal to ensure it hasthe 4 components:  timeframe, condition,behavior and criteria.

 

·        Click on Instructional or Related Services

·        Implementer

·        Method of Evaluation

·        Parent will be notified of student progress by "Concurrent with Report Cards"

·        Click on Save

 

 

To add objectives to the goal:  (For subject that has modified curriculum oralternate curriculum)

1.      Scroll down tothe bottom of the Measurable Annual Goal (Standards) where it saysObjectives/Benchmarks.  Click onCreate.  Develop an objective which has atimeframe, condition, behavior, and criteria. Must be a small step to mastery of goal.

2.     Repeat for second objective.

 

 

Student Goal Progress

 

1.      Enter the lastday of the grading period or if updating for Annual ARD enter date of ARD.

2.     Select the goal to be updated.

 

·         Click Save

 

Click on IEP Progress (Objectives)

1.      Make sure thecorrect date is clicked on the left.

2.     Find the goal with objectives that need to be updatedand click on Show Objective Progress.

3.     Click in the progress box of the period that is thesame as the period clicked for the goal.

4.     Enter progress code.

5.     Indicate is progress sufficient at this time.

6.     It is not necessary on objectives to enter furtheraction needed.

7.     Click on Update progress.

8.     Repeat   


IEP Goalsand Objectives can be updated in either of two ways.  Stay in the ARD Forms application and clickon the Student Goal Progress Screen, then the IEP Progress (Objectives) ScreenOR Go to the Progress Reports application and click on Student IEP ProgressGoals, then Student IEP Progress Objectives.
