As winter approaches, we want to take time to remind parents that Sanger ISD is constantly monitoring inclement weather situations. In the event of bad weather, we must consider the safety of all 2,600 students in our 150-square mile district when making decisions about school closures. SISD administrators will determine school cancellations based on the safety of all students district-wide.
If school is cancelled to due a weather-related event, parents will be notified via multiple platforms including SISD’s parent callout system, the SISD webpage, and BES Facebook. Parents can also tune in to their local news and radio stations for this information.
School closing decisions are reported to the following television channels: 4 (KDFW), 5 (KXAS), 8 (WFAA), 11 (KTVT), 23 (KUVN) and 39 (KXTX), along with radio stations WBAP-AM (820), KWRD-FM (100.7), KHKS-FM (106.1), KLIF-AM (570), KPLX-FM (99.5), KLRD-AM (1080) and KVIL-FM (103.7).
As always, SISD will keep parents, students and community members informed with the most up-to-date information through these communication platforms. SISD thanks you in advance for your patience in the event of a winter weather situation.
